NeighborStars Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legal agreement between you and NeighborStars Inc. ("NeighborStars," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the NeighborStars mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms, which are separated into sections based on your role as either a Coach or a Player.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.

1. Key Terms

  • Coach: A user who provides training services via the Platform.

  • Player: A user who books training sessions from Coaches on the Platform.

  • User: Refers to either a Coach or a Player, or both.

  • Services: The matching, scheduling, and payment functionality offered through the Platform.

2. Eligibility

Coaches:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Must be either currently or formerly enrolled as a student-athlete at an NCAA-affiliated institution.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Must pass an identity verification check (e.g., via Stripe Identity).

  • Must create and maintain a Stripe account to receive payments.

Players:

  • Must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform.

  • Players under 13 require verifiable consent from a parent or guardian, who will be held responsible for all usage and interactions.

3. Use of the Platform

User Responsibilities:

  • All users agree to use the Platform in compliance with all applicable laws and these Terms.

  • Objectionable content—including but not limited to harassment, hate speech, violence, or explicit materials—is strictly prohibited.

  • Users must not use the Platform for any purpose other than its intended service-based function.

Coaches:

  • Training sessions must be arranged and conducted only through the Platform.

  • Circumventing the Platform to conduct off-platform services with Players you met through NeighborStars is a violation of these Terms.

  • You must ensure all interactions are professional, safe, and NCAA-compliant.

Players:

  • You are responsible for your conduct when interacting with Coaches.

  • You agree not to solicit or attempt to solicit Coaches for off-platform arrangements.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability:

  • NeighborStars does not supervise, control, or guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of the services provided by Coaches or the conduct of any Users.

  • By using the Platform, you acknowledge that interactions and sessions are arranged at your own risk.

  • NeighborStars is not responsible for any personal injury, property damage, or other harm that may result from interactions or sessions between Users, whether during or after a session.

  • Users should exercise appropriate caution and judgment when using the Platform or meeting in person.

User Responsibilities:

  • All users agree to use the Platform in compliance with all applicable laws and these Terms.

  • Users must not use the Platform for any purpose other than its intended service-based function.

Coaches:

  • Training sessions must be arranged and conducted only through the Platform.

  • Circumventing the Platform to conduct off-platform services with Players you met through NeighborStars is a violation of these Terms.

  • You must ensure all interactions are professional, safe, and NCAA-compliant.

Players:

  • You are responsible for your conduct when interacting with Coaches.

  • You agree not to solicit or attempt to solicit Coaches for off-platform arrangements.

4. Payments and Fees

  • Payments are processed via Stripe. By using the Platform, you also agree to be bound by Stripe's terms of service.

  • NeighborStars does not store your banking information.

  • Coaches receive payments via Stripe for completed sessions.

  • NeighborStars may deduct a platform service fee from the transaction amount.

5. Content and Moderation

  • NeighborStars may monitor content shared or uploaded through the Platform.

  • We provide a flagging system that allows users to report objectionable content or conduct.

  • Users may block others who engage in abusive behavior.

  • NeighborStars will investigate and act on reports within 24 hours. Actions may include content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.

6. Account Suspension and Termination

  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or applicable laws.

  • Users may also delete their accounts at any time through the App.

7. Privacy

  • NeighborStars processes personal information in accordance with our [Privacy Policy].

  • By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to Terms

  • These Terms may be updated periodically.

  • Continued use of the Platform after any such updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
